We at Golden Gate Hall in San Francisco are excited to meet you and are looking forward to including you in our student community. We are very committed to provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment here at Golden Gate Hall for both your educational and personal life as you make a good strong start for your future. Here at Lodge in San Francisco CA get all types of oriented students from the around the world with different backgrounds and cultures, and you make a lifetime bond of friendship and build a memories to take home with you.

The purpose of student life is to promote community development and personal growth. In the choosing to live in Golden Gate Hall, a student commits to participation in an educational community; a community characterized by RESPECT for self, others, and property is the standard of conduct expected of each student. RESPOSIBILITY implies making well considered decisions and practicing self management. This interactions offers OPPORTUNITIES for learning to relate effectively with others and to live and work cooperatively as well as independently.

STUDENT RULES & REGULATIONS
ROOM ASSIGNMENTS:

Room assignments will be made solely by Golden Gate Hall. Should you request a particular roommate, we will make every effort to accommodate your request. Should we match you with a roommate, GGH will attempt to give you information about your roommate at least a week prior to your arrival. In the event of a roommate conflict, GGH reserves the right to relocate to another room similar to the room to which they are currently assigned. In the event that GGH determines that you do not fit into the GGH environment, GGH reserves right to terminate any residence at its sole discretion.
IMPORTANT ROOM SAFETY INFORMATION
 
Always lock your door behind you.
 
Do not give out your keys to anyone!
 
Recognize who belongs on your floor and who is a stranger
 
Immediately report to security if you are uncomfortable with anyone’s
visitor.
 
Always make sure you are familiar with whom you are inviting into GGH,
Please don’t sign in a guest who may prove to be a potential safety risk.
 
Never allow your visitor to wander unescorted throughout the building.
 
IN A CASE OF FIRE – If the fire is in your room, call front desk and 911 if
possible, stay low as you go out. Alert others on the floor by knocking on doors. Activate the fire alarm if there is one. Go down the nearest STAIRWAYS, holding the railing.
 
THINGS TO KNOW IN CASE OF FIRE
The layout of your floor.
   
The location of all stair exits from your floor, location of fire boxes.
   
The number of doors between your room and exit stairs. This is essential
knowledge to find the exit in the dark.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY:
In case of any medical emergency, call 911, after that contact front desk, so They are aware of the situation.

SECURITY CAMERA:
GGH operates 24-hours security in the lobby as well as surveillance cameras in hallways, common areas and around the outside perimeter of the building.

GUEST/VISITORS POLICIES:
Guest are expected to abide by GGH policies, procedures, regulations and
standards. The host is responsible for the actions of his/her guests at all
times. Any guest who violates any GGH policies will be asked to leave.

* Valid picture identification required upon visit.
* Visiting hour ends at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday thru Thursday.
* Visiting hour ends at 12:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

MAIL AND PACKAGES:
Incoming mail will be held for you at the front desk. GGH will not accept any C.O.D. mail, packages, food, pharmacy or laundry deliveries.
 
HOUSE RULES

ALCOHOL - Students must abide by all federal, state and local laws and regulations and those of GGH regarding the use of alcoholic beverages. All persons under 21 years of age are prohibited from possessing and consuming any alcoholic beverages. Students over 21 may possess alcohol within the privacy of their own rooms with the following restrictions: no alcoholic beverages should be offered to anyone under 21 by anyone over 21. Also students found to be in an intoxicated state may be subject to the appropriate disciplinary action by GGH. If the visiting guest of a GGH is intoxicated, the GGH security staff has right to deny that student the right to sign in that guest. GGH maintains the right to remove any intoxicated guest from the building.

DRUGS - Students are required to abide by all federal, state and city laws and regulations regarding the use or distribution of controlled substances. If we find any students or visitor to be in possession of or using, selling illegal substances, within the residence hall, we will contact the local police department. Your agreement will be immediately terminated and all monies paid forfeited.

DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR - Disorderly or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. GGH has the right to ask the perpetrator to leave or call authorities if necessary.

COMMON AREA BULLETIN BOARDS - a student bulletin board can be found both in the front lobby and student lounge. Anyone may place items on the bulletin board. However, GGH reserves the right to remove any inappropriate postings on any bulletin board or on any public place at its sole and absolute discreation.

SIGNAGE - affixing any signs, flags or banners on any part of the outside of a resident room door, hallways, stairwells, student lounge, lobby, bathrooms, outside the windows, or outside the building is strictly prohibited.

SMOKING-smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building, including resident rooms and stairwells. If a resident desires to smoke, they must go outside. Please do not stand directly in front of the building and do not block the entrance.

WINDOWS - please do not sit on the windowsill or reach outside the window for any reason at all.

COURTESY AND QUIET HOURS - each student is expected to be considerate
Towards other students who choose to study or sleep. During quiet hours, noise must be kept to a minimum, radios, stereos, and televisions must be played at lower volume levels.

ROOM CONDITION REPORT - on the day of your move, we ask you to fill out a room condition report listing any pre existing damage you may notice. Failure to document any existing damage within 24 hours may result in damage costs when you check out and may be deducted from your deposit.

ROOM CONDITION AND SAFETY - students are not permitted to paint, damage or make any changes to room walls, floors, or furniture. Students violating this policy will be required to pay for the room to be restored. Do not put any nails, screws, hooks or any sticky substances in/on the will. GGH provides putty upon check-in, which is to be used as a safe wall adhesive. For safety reasons, do not lean outside of your windows, climb outside your window, sit on the ledge or try to clean the outside of your windows. Do not tamper with your room’s cable hook up, smoke detector, sprinkler systems, telephone, window treatment.

 
FACILITY USE REGULATIONS
STUDENT LOUNGE:

GGH has provided a special student lounge on the 4th floor of the building. The lounge is provided for resident use and enjoyment, and we expect that you will respect this space, as we want to keep it open to all at all times. The lounge has comfortable chairs, couches, a big screen television, a pool table and communal kitchen facilities. Students must clean up after themselves and understand that these spaces are offered for the enjoyment of all students at GGH. No furnishings or equipment may be tampered with or removed from these lounges. Under no circumstances is smoking or drinking will be allowed in the lounge. Laundry facilities also place on 4th floor. We have a fitness room and practice room for your place on 4th floor for your convenient. Everything on 4th floor is for you all students to enjoy and make a lifetime memory with your fellow students and friends at no charge. Laundry facilities are coin operated. We also have vending machines and Coin change machines are located on 4th floor.

KITCHEN FACILITY:

All cooking in the buildings must be confined to the kitchen. Cooking is not permitted in residence hall rooms. Students are responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and sanitary. Food may not be left unattended while cooking in kitchen. Please note that personal effects left in community areas will be removed by staff and may be discarded. Under no circumstances is smoking or drinking will be allowed in the lounge. Students should be conscientious of fire safety at all times. Student who cause fire weather intentionally or as a result of negligence, may be held financially responsible for fines incurred by the City of San Francisco from a such visit. These fines are very costly and increase with every visit.

LAUNDRY FACILITIES:

When utilizing laundry facilities, observe the rules posted in the laundry room. Avoid overloading the machines or using too much soap. Clean the lint filter before and after use. As a courtesy to others and to prevent theft, remember to remove your clothes promptly after using the machines.

PRACTICE ROOM:

Students, who wish to play music or practice their instruments, should wear headphones, or play at a low volume out of respect for their roommate and neighbors.

WI-FI CONNECTIVITY:

Wi-Fi network access is a privilege, not a right. We will make every effort to maintain a signal for wireless connections, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted connectivity due to factors beyond our control.
 
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
First-come, first-served
 
GGH reserve right to refuse or change room at anytime
 
Security deposit required and is refundable provided the room is vacated in
the condition in which it was found and all inventoried items are accounted for.
Maintenance charge is $200. This charge will be automatically deducted
from the security deposit .
Two weeks written notice prior to check out
 
Payment terms: first month will be pro-rated and following month it will be
due on/by 5th of the month. Late charge will be $50.
Refund policy: if the rent is paid in advance refund will be awarded only
with written request.
   
Check out policy: two weeks advance notice required. You must check out
  and return the room with a approval of check out inspection. There will be some charges associated with not fulfilling your responsibilities when you move out. Also don’t forget to fill out the change of address form at the front desk.
   
Under any circumstances student will not take the matters on to their own
  hands with other students. Any of the inconvenience or the confusion please report that to the front desk.
